IV NAD

User: /u/Fit-Vehicle9311

Usually, five days of 750mg of NAD infusions, combined with a vitamin flush. Yes, very uncomfortable during the infusion itself, which can last from 1-2 hours, however after that week, I felt calmness, cognitive clarity, and energy. It permanently improved my baseline for mitochondrial function and even a year later I feel more energy. I started waking up in the mornings rested, rather than exhausted. I didn't need to nap each afternoon anymore

I got one NAD IV done a few years ago. Honestly it was such an uncomfortable experience, I said I’d never do it again lol (maybe I would). It took maybe 3.5 hours. It did help with my mental clarity for a very short time. I remember almost not sleeping the night after the IV because I was very alert. I met someone at my doctor’s clinic who said NAD IVs really helped him with fatigue, and to feel “normal” again

Have done twice. Experienced benefits, particularly on the second run which had 1 gram vs the 500 mg of the first. Sleep and libido enhancement as well as wound healing and nicer looking skin all occurred (my facial hair appeared to grow back faster as well).

I had NAD plus IV done few months ago. 4 days for approx. 2.5hr session. I didn’t feel any significant improvement but I know people that it helped. Typically you have to follow up with more IVs during the year to make it more effective but I didn’t do it. There are some studies about a possible link with NAD and cancer and it is not recommended if you diagnosed with one. While on NAD IV, I experienced chest pain, nausea, heavy legs and warm feeling in the stomach but it can be different for you. It all goes away once the session is over. The last session was almost without any symptoms.

II've done both IV and IM. They are incomparable. IV helped me heal and be in less pain. It imbues vitality. IM is actually kind of depressing. Even a nurse I spoke with mentioned he takes a nap after his due to dizziness and nausea. With IV I feel stronger, with IM I feel weaker.
I don't know how to install an intravenous drip, or I would.

IM/SQ NAD

for context: I'm 31M, I would consider myself to be something like 90% optimized already. I've been biohacking seriously for 8 years. I've tried many, many things. Already feel pretty good, but always room for improvement of course. I've heard a lot of positive things about NAD+ injections for a long time. I used NMN for about a year with good results. I always felt like it gave me a boost of energy on days that I used it. I took this as a sign that maybe NAD+ injections would give me a good reaction. December and January were particularly debaucherous months for me. I typically don't drink that much, but because of the holidays and then some subsequent travel I drank way way more than I typically do. Combining this with getting sick for a few weeks and my exercise routine also took a bit of a hit. From the alcohol + the sickness I was feeling quite below my normally optimized self. My brain felt slow, memory a bit worse. A couple of weeks ago I arrived back and decided to get myself fully back into shape. I know that alcohol can deplete NAD levels, so I decided to try to kickstart myself and give NAD+ injections a shot (badum...). I opted for IM injections because the IVs can take a few hours per day for several days which is a very large time commitment. I've been doing 100mg - 250mg IM shots most days. Started at 100mg now doing 250mg. I plan to do a total of 2.5g. So far I've done 1.75g.
I have to say.. this feels like one of the most substantial biohacking interventions I've done. I've noticed: Energy levels have been extremely high. Anxiety has been very low. Mood has generally been very positive. In particular the last two weeks has been the most active I've been in the 5 years recording data on my Oura ring. Despite this, my recovery scores are much higher than average. And I feel very fresh. I've been working out 2 or 3 times a day! Between 90 minutes of padel, weight training and some longer cardio sessions. I've been averaging over 900 active calories burned per day for the last week which is nearly double my average. I have not in recent years been as active as I have been the last 2 weeks, and when I've gotten even close to these levels of activity usually I start to feel physically exhausted. I felt that way for one day last week after playing padel for 3 hours straight (burning over 1,000 calories in a single session), but after taking the rest of the day off and having a good night sleep I felt nearly 100% again the next day. Mentally I've also felt very good.
Anxiety has been low, my brain feels sharp, memory is great, motivation is high. At the same time at night I have no issue falling asleep. I'll caveat all of this by saying that I'm also trying another change: my sleep schedule is far "better" than it usually is. My sleep is always great in that I prioritize it and always get around 8 hours of sleep (no alarm). However, I'm typically a night owl and usually sleep around midnight (and sometimes much later). The past couple weeks I decided to try a much earlier schedule.. I've been going to sleep between 9-10pm and waking up at 6-7am. It's possible this is part of the reason I feel so good but it doesn't seem like this could explain everything. Anyway, so far it's been a huge success. I just hope the effects maintain after I finish the protocol.

I started taking Lipo NAD complete 3 months ago on the recommendation of a friend. Here are the results I've experienced.

POSITIVES:

better gym performance - I was able to smash through a plateau I'd been experiencing after about 3 weeks on it. I actually set the weights wrong and did my sets and then realized that I had increased it by 5 kg and done an easy set. This was really encouraging to keep taking it since I'd been stuck for weeks.

My blood pressure is back down to healthy levels. I don't know the mechanism of this, but I've had slightly elevated BP for several years. It's now in the normal range.

Sleep is better. According to my tracker. I feel like my circadian rhythm is back to a natural state. I've been having trouble sleeping for years. This was not something I expected because people complain NMN makes them sleep worse.

Skin looks better and "brighter". I think this may be because of the better sleep.

NEGATIVES:

No physical negatives.

They are ALWAYS out of stock. I am about to run out and tried ordering more NAD complete in late February. They sent an email saying it was delayed, and now it's been almost a month. Does anyone know why they never have this? Desperate to get another bottle and will probably order several since I don't want this to happen again.

53m that had a quadruple bypass 2 yrs ago. Six weeks after surgery developed pluersy (fluid on the lungs). Spent. 11 months on steroids. Went from being a very active person to gaining 44 pounds, miserable POS! Hated everything. One day I decided to go play golf. Got extremely dehydrated. Went to a IV therapy shop. Owner became a friend I was going so much. Kept begging me to try NAD+ injections. Started taking them Jan 2024. Best thing I ever done. Had my 6 month cardiologist appointment 3 weeks ago. First words from docs mouth was were these results accurate. BP: 117/78, Cholesterol: 128 (was appr. 400 at heart attack time), weight was down 27 pounds. I have never felt better. Have not taken a BP pill, Lipton, Meloxicam, or Pradulent Shot (stops body from producing cholesterol) or some crap. Regardless
. No more meds. I take 50mg injections 4x a week. Wife has not smelt or tasted anything since Dec2020 Covid, until last month. She takes 50mg 2x a week. I could be a poster boy for NAD+
. And I don’t take anything like vitamins, supplements, nothing. Really didn’t believe in it until now. So committed that I ended up investing into the IV clinic and we are opening up a second location soon. Not sure if everyone has the same results, but I am a firm believer in the injections.

Usually I spend the entire weekend in bed and am constantly exhausted. I just had the jab yesterday and spent the the weekend taking long walks, going to brunch with friends and going to a gallery and doing chores. Totally think this could be a game changer. It's incredible. So, to answer your question, no, not at all a waste. But I am not sure I would go with the pre-filled pens.

Oral NADâș Supplements (NR/NMN)

User: /u/Cryptoclearance

I have been taking the TRU since the other suddenly became unavailable. I have been taking Niagen for a year, but have not seen any real improvements in my blood work. Not sure if I will continue.

Currently there is anecdotal evidence for beneficial use but nothing is scientifically definite that you can rely on 100%.

I have been using NMN for around a year. I can't definitely say that my age was reversed or that other age related symptoms slowed down. I can say that personally I feel better. However, I did feel great before and have exercised a lot and eaten only organic produce.

Having said that, if I had a limited budget and had to choose between NMN and a gym I would choose a gym any day of the week.

For me that’s got hsd and fibro I can say that NAD+ def work. Been dealing woth fatigue my whole life! And now I can actually work and stay awake all day. And work at least 50 %. Game changed for me.

NMN has helped me exercise more. I lost the dopamine feeling from working out and wasn’t motivated. NMN helped me get back my “will power”. It’s not energy like caffeine, sugar, or TRT but it energizes you to do what you want and do it day after day. Science hasn’t been able to measure this but I know my body and it feels better.

Commentary from Public Figures: Huberman and Rogan

High-profile bio-optimizers like Dr Andrew Huberman and Joe Rogan have publicly shared their personal experiences with NAD+, lending further insight (and hype) to its reputation.

Huberman has discussed both oral and IV NAD regimes on his podcast. He takes NR and NMN every morning primarily for the subjective energy boost. He notes he is not chasing lifespan extension but uses it for the mental and physical performance increase. He has noted a "sustained" increas in his ability to focus and exercise with these supplements, although if he takes too large a dose or doses too late, it can make his "brain race at night", interfering with sleep.

His experimentation with NAD IV infusions is even more telling. He recounts that he underwent two sessions of 500-1000mg IV NAD when he felt run-down. He recounts that the procedure itself was, "so uncomfortable... I felt nauseous, like someone was stepping on my chest," which forced him to slow the drip. However after that ordeal passed, the felt "much, much better in a number of different ways - improved sleep, improved vigor..." He noted feeing "terrific", more energetic and clear-headed andwas able to sleep fine that night by doing the IV earlier in the day. He does caution that this is anecdotal and not backed by control studies. Due to its cost and inconvenience, he doesn't plan to do frequent NAD infusions, but perhaps a couple times a year when he feels especially depleted.

His overall stance is that NAD+ interventions can subjectively enhance vitality and recovery, but should be weighed against well-established health practices and personal response to treatment.

Joe rogan has also been an enthusiastic advocate of NAD IV therapy on his podcast, often highlighting the whole-body "upgrade" he feels from it. He mentions using NAD+ drips especially during challenging periods (like intesne training or during a COVID-19 illness) to bolster his immune system and energy.

In various episodes, he raves that NAD IVs make "you just feel fantastic", and notes benefits "cognitively" - feeling sharper for his marathon podcast sessions.

He commented that the second NAD treatment "really took it over the top. I have more energy, focus, and recovery time, calling it akin to a biological reset or "reboot".

Conclusion

Real-world experiences with NAD+ therapy are incredibly varied. Some users describe it as life-changing, others felt minimal benefit, and a few reported uncomfortable side effects. The delivery method (IV vs. injection vs. oral), dosage, and individual health status all play a major role in outcomes and personal experiences.

These anecdotes can’t replace clinical trials, but they do offer valuable insights into what people actually feel when trying NAD+. If you're considering NAD therapy, make sure to consult a qualified provider who can help tailor a protocol to your goals, whether that's energy, recovery, brain function, or healthy aging.

FAQs

Do NAD+ IVs actually work?

Many users report increased energy, better sleep, mental clarity, and even improved physical recovery. However, responses vary—some feel immediate effects while others notice subtle or delayed benefits.

Why are NAD+ infusions so uncomfortable for some people?

The rapid influx of NAD+ can trigger chest tightness, nausea, or flushing. Slowing the IV drip rate or combining with co-factors (like B vitamins) often reduces these symptoms.

Are injections or oral supplements as effective as IV NAD+?

IV therapy delivers the highest systemic bioavailability, but IM injections can be effective for maintenance. Oral NAD+ precursors like NMN and NR are convenient but may have milder effects.

Is there any risk to trying NAD+ therapy?

While generally well-tolerated, NAD+ therapy isn’t for everyone. People with certain cancers or cardiovascular conditions should consult their doctor first due to limited safety data.

How long do the effects of NAD+ last?

Some users feel benefits for days to weeks after a session. Consistent use may help maintain the effects, depending on lifestyle and baseline health.
